Information about Cornwall Rural Housing Association
Cornwall Rural Housing Association (CRHA) is a charitable housing association and a registered society under the Co-operative and Community Benefit Societies Act 2014 (Registered Number: 24935R).
CRHA was formed in 1985 and is a leading provider of good quality affordable housing across Cornwall and on the Isles of Scilly providing hundreds of homes for rent and shared ownership which are spread across numerous villages and on 4 islands.
Board of Management
CRHA is run by a voluntary Board of Management who meet regularly to oversee our operations. They are made up of individuals who bring a wide range of skills, knowledge, and experience from various sectors. Their combined expertise helps guide our strategic direction, ensure good governance, and support our mission to provide high-quality, affordable housing for local communities.
Funding
As a developing Association funding for new developments has generally been provided by way of capital grants from government bodies such as Homes England and also from local authorities. These grants have been supplemented by loans raised by CRHA from financial institutions. The loans are repaid from our rental income, which also has to meet the costs of maintaining and managing the properties. CRHA is a Registered Provider of social housing and as such our activities are regulated by the Regulator of Social Housing.
Our Team and Our Purpose
At the heart of everything we do is a team of passionate individuals who bring not only their skills and experience, but also their whole hearts to the work we do.
Each member of our team brings a unique perspective, shaped by diverse backgrounds and experiences, but we are united by a shared commitment: to make a meaningful difference to our communities.
Together, we are building something that matters. And we’re proud to do it as a team.
Homes to Rent
Most of our properties in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly have restrictions requiring tenants to have a local connection to the parish. This usually means you must:
Live or work in the parish,
Have recently moved away due to housing or work needs, or
Have close family there who need support.
We can only offer housing if you meet these criteria for a parish where we have homes.
