At Cornwall Rural Housing Association (CRHA), we believe that everyone deserves a safe, secure and affordable home. Our vision, ‘Homes to make life better’, drives us to support rural communities across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. We do this by providing homes for over a thousand local people in some of the most rural locations in the country.

Your help

At CRHA, the rent we receive from our homes is our only source of ongoing funding. Government regulations keep these rents affordable for those on low incomes or with particular circumstances. The bulk of our rental income is reinvested into customers homes to keep them modern and in an excellent state of repair, to cover the costs of running the business, providing services to customers and meeting our borrowing commitments.

Access to government grants help us fund the development of new homes, but they only cover part of the cost. The remainder we raise by borrowing from Banks, Building Societies, and other financial institutions.

Making a difference

That's where you can make a real difference. Your donation could help with essential running costs, contribution to new affordable homes and support investment in existing homes.
Every gift, big or small, helps us continue our work and provides support to help us plan for the future. You can give once, set up a monthly gift or leave a legacy gift in your will to support future generations.

Land for development

If there is a demonstrated need for housing in a village, we may be able to secure planning permission for land located outside the development boundary. Our housing schemes are typically compact—occupying less than one acre—making them ideal for small-scale developments that serve local needs.

If you own land that could be suitable for a modest affordable housing project, we’d love to hear from you. Please note that to ensure the homes remain genuinely affordable, we are generally only able to offer between five to ten times the current agricultural land value.

Please contact our New Homes Delivery Lead, Neil Edwards on neil@crha.org.uk if you want to find out more.
